This award-winning painting was created as a submission for a local Plein Air Event and then was auctioned off in a silent auction. Though the original is not available, prints are available so that more people can enjoy this artwork.

The painting depicts a specific spot up Santaquin Canyon, Utah. The road is the only road into the canyon, and there are multiple small turnoffs for hikers and campers to enjoy the scenery. As per much of Utah, the lower part of the canyon is full of scrub oak and sage brush. Further up in elevation the scrub brush disappears, the trees get taller, and there are quaken aspens and pine trees. The view depicted here is looking towards the East up into the canyon, with Dry Mountain on the left (North) and Nebo Mountain to the right (South).

Locals of the Santaquin area, especially those who have grown up in the shadow of these mountains, love to cherish the beautiful views of the twisting landscape and snow-covered peaks.
