This piece of art was originally painted on a miniature canvas, 2"x2", with acrylic paints. Nicci Lee has a great love of all things dragon! She decided to combine that with her love of the sunset and painted this picture of a dragon flying over a lake or ocean during sunset. This painting creates a feeling of wonder and enchantment. Every sunset that a person takes the time to sit still and gaze upon is a time of calm reflection upon the day's activities. Sometimes this invokes a joyful feeling, because the day's activities included accomplished goals or time spent doing something adventurous. And other times, as the sun sets lower and lower in the sky, changing the colors in the sky with every passing minute, the feelings of unease at the thought of what the coming darkness or days ahead might bring. Nicci Lee painted this dragon flying in front of those feeling using bright colors of yellow, orange, and red to depict the energy that comes from the sunset and the courage to continue.
