The Sholom Park in Ocala, Florida is a beautiful park to paint on location "En Plein Air" I liked the morning sun touching the foliage and the soft shadows that were made by the foliage onto the garden bed and the cool sidewalk. I painted with the Ocala Plein Air Painters that morning. "En plein air" means painting outdoors. Capturing the moment as the sun is coming up and touching the foliage and any man made objects. En plein air began in the 1800's and is still being practiced today. There is nothing like being outdoors feeling the sun as it comes up and painting from life as it happens. Capturing the mood of what I initially see when I come up to a location is what I strive to capture and put on canvas.
