I was feeling the urge to paint but didn’t have a particular subject in mind. Talking to a friend I mentioned that I was looking for inspiration. Their response was, “LSD”. Which made me laugh and say, “okay, I meant more that I’m looking for a direction.” The next response was, “north”. Okay, I can work with that. What resulted was a visual display of the early sensations one might feel as they begin the ascent of a psychedelic experience. Nearly the entire painting was rendered using pipettes to hand spray layers of color in various size drops and colors to create textures and dimensions that pull you in the closer you look.
