Hope is the first of Michelle's "word" paintings and was featured on the Brave New Life newsletter, as a beacon of Hope in an increasingly complicated world. Michelle painted this as a response to the acts of oppression that seemed to be multiplying out of control in the modern Western World. This is her "message in a bottle." After this was done, and she realized how people could be moved by just one word, she began creating her "word" series.
