This painting glows as only pure oils from the tube can glow, and does not require special lighting. On a wall it will have a life of it's own with a subtlety that catches your eye in the changing ambient light of a room.
I don't know if it is strange to talk in these terms about one's own work, but I consider this painting to be among the best of my best, from my more recent period when I think my work as a painter has fully matured. I have been seriously at it for most of my life and I turned 78 years old this summer. I feel I have a few more good ones in me. This is a personal favorite.
