This is my first photo restoration of my Grandpa posing with a mandolin sometime after World War II. Bernard Budler served during World War II in Scotland, England, Africa (Tunisia and Algeria) and Italy. This was an important piece for me to restore because I just loved the photo and shows him in such a graceful and gentle pose. I was young when he passed, but remembered him being such a gentle person, so this photo does such a good job portraying him. Ozzie was also a hard worker, ensuring he provided a good life for his family on the Nebraska farm. It was discovered through restoration that he wore a red scarf in this photo, infamously worn by traditional mandolinists in Italy. Also, the photo was post-war because of his wedding band.
