This mixed media piece represents the plight of Mexican immigrants trying to reach our boarders with their families for a better life. Once again, I use the image of our America flag that stands for welcoming all those seeking refuge from war torn, dangerous countries. These people, these children need our help. Is this not how many of us are here now because our ancestors arrived to this land years ago? Ellis Island is where my family started from Italy. Why can't we understand this is the same desire for these families? Don't they deserve a chance at a better life?
