This is my personal favourite, capturing a wonderful Autumn afternoon with my grandson. The sun was shining bright and everything around us, captured that light. The boy is fascinated by the ripples he is creating with his foot, for the first time in his life.

It is a fantastic image in any setting.

Maree Jolleau's work is based many times on those captured moments of life, that we remember, but can't necessarily recall to mind visually. These works aim to provoke those memories and bring your memories before your eyes.

Maree is also fascinated by the light around us, and how it plays a large part of our visual world. Working from dark to light in her work, challenging herself with each piece to capture the right light for each particular subject.

If you switch off the light – there is nothing. Light creates our world.
