Sometimes I find beauty in the small details of someone's face: the curve of an eyebrow, perhaps, or the highlight reflecting from the eye: the delicate nape of a neck, the warmth of colour in the cheek... and so it was when I came across images of the young Jane Fonda. These were monochrome photographs but that was not a problem, in fact it was an asset as it freed me to use artistic licence on my interpretation of the stunning young lady that Jane was.
