Table Rock State Park sits just off Highway 11 in Pickens County, South Carolina. The closest town is Pumpkintown. Table Rock State Park happens to be home to my very favorite day hike trail of all time. Not surprisingly, it is called the Table Rock Trail, and it starts at the base of the mountain, goes 3.5 miles up to the summit, then a little further along the top of the rocks where you can see breathtaking views of Table Rock Lake and Lake Oolenoy. There are also several other trails, including Cerrick Creek trail, a short 2 mile loop that stays close to the base of the mountain, but boasts beautiful water falls, and lots of great places to stop and play in the water. The Table Rock trails are also connected through the Foothills Trail to other South Carolina state parks.
