This little motel stands just about dead center of Nowhere. Actually, it is just outside of a small town named Pumpkintown, in Pickens county, South Carolina. It has an attached convenience store that looks as though it once sold gasoline, but no longer does, and exactly 4 rooms for rent. It is billed as "The World's Smallest Motel" and I have a picture of that sign too...just keep looking through my gallery!

It actually is in a pretty stunning location if you are up for the drive. Less than 5 miles down Highway 11, you will find the entrance to Table Rock State Park, which is home to my very favorite hiking trail in the whole world. The views of and from Table Rock are breathtaking in every season of the year. Pumpkintown and Ooleenoy also put on a great crafts festival every year, so you can stay at the little motel and visit the festival!
