Two things I loved about this doorway that inspired me to paint it - the vibrant olive brown colours in the sunlight and the character of faded splendour. Many East European cities have these type of features, splendid in the past and the passage of time has left its interesting mark on the range of textures, nuances of colour and architectural marks. I have used fine art canvas and water based oil colours in a vertical orientation, it is ready to hang and add subtle character to any interior space.
