I have been moved by seeing together from different backgrounds and races coming together to create positive change. It is going to take all of us. This painting is a call to action and an answer to the call. That is why it is called All Hands On Deck.
The painting is made in my mosaic-like style of acrylic and paper on stretched canvas. The canvas is first treated with an acrylic "grout" I create then the paper adhered, followed by glazes and varnish so it is quite durable and protected from sunlight, etc. The painting wraps around the edges (1.5 inches deep) so there is no need for a frame.
