I've been into photography since I was a child and really got my start when I was about nine. Shortly after I entered high school, I realized that my favorites things to play with in photography were lighting and angles rather than filters and props.
More recently, I realized that gemstones make the perfect subject in order to play with lighting and angles and as a gemology student, I have connections and easy access.
This shot is from the first ever photo shoot I did on this camera, where I took a piece of broken baby Akoya shell, a collection of cultured freshwater pearls, a ruby, and a sapphire and set them up on the hood of a champagne colored disabled Buick LeSabre. Turns out it makes the perfect back drop for pearls.
This image is an 8x8 in a 12x12 mat, will need a 12x12 frame. Props not for sale.
