For this photo shoot, I took a scallop shell and lightly filled it with pearls, scattering some in the front as though they had spilled out. I then placed a sky blue topaz at the back. Then gem is not faceted, it has a domed smooth top but a smooth, pointed back. On a nice, glossy, textured backdrop to achieve subtle reflections, I took a series of photos of the display and this is one of my favorite photos. I don't take portrait oriented photos often, typically I shoot landscape style, so this image is a rare treat.
