This entirely soft pastel work is among some of my first pastel paintings. Making him special in his own way for helping me discover my love of the medium. Bluebirds are a symbol of joy, hope, and happiness! Considered an uplifting message bearer, bluebirds are also the totem animal of those who appreciate blessings. To me he is an evidence that God appreciates beauty and is himself an amazing artist. My hope is to give the viewer as much joy as he brought me as I watched him gracefully perched atop of a flowering redbud tree this spring!
