'Notre-Dame de Paris'... Those were not special effects for a film. Those flames were real, an acric orange smoke rising into the Parisian sky.
For me, as a child, Notre-Dame represented my city. It would always stand there at its heart.
It burned but it survived. Scarred but proud, seemingly indestructible. It will take months and months but it will be mended and its bells will toll again.
