These boots were originally part of a logo that I did for a Facebook group. I had only painted one other thing in watercolor before these boots. What’s crazy is I didn’t even have a plan. I just jumped right in and starting painting, hoping it would turn out okay (that’s usually my plan) and it’s been one of my most popular paintings. I usually work in realism and am not used to more loose painting. Watercolor is totally different than acrylic or oil, as I’ve come to learn. With watercolor, you have to start with your lightest colors and go to dark. With oil and acrylic, you start with your darkest color and go lighter. It’s crazy how different painting can be. I’m learning so much and can’t wait to see what else I can do in watercolor.
