The Monk is an acrylic on canvas piece of artwork. I have been wanting to try this kind or style of artwork where - 'Less Is More.' for a long time. it was a bit of a challenge to create this artwork and took a lot of precision and concentration. It shows a monk bowing done to the almighty in a namaste mudra and praying. I would love my viewers to get a feel of the life of the monks and the way they mediate and concentrate in sync with God. The life of a monk is something very different from that of people like you and me, they live and extremely simple life, but at the same time a life full of purity and faith. This painting give one the feeling of peace and quiet in a very calm and pristine surrounding. This monk is a Tibetian Monk as he is wearing a maroon robe as to the Theravada Buddhist monks who wear saffron robes.
