Maine's coastline is comprised of many fingers of rock jutting into the ocean. They are beautiful and dangerous to sailors and ships. Mid-coast Maine is dotted with them and their lighthouses. Pemaquid is a favorite. Low tide and you can walk down the rock finger to look back at the Pemaquid Lighthouse Complex. An important landmark on the coast line of Maine built in 1827, it still functions as a beacon to ships passing by. Most photos and paintings are from the front or side but this side of the complex intrigued me. This is a petite painting measuring, 8 x 8" and beautifully framed to 9 1/4" square 2" deep. It takes you back to clear days as you wander the coastline collecting memories.
