This is a spring scene from Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The azaleas were in full bloom. Being surrounded by nature, with so many different bright colored flowers and lush foliage, along with the inviting trail, set up the perfect elements for a garden painting. I used thick paint to give the flowers their form and used many colors and shades of green to depict the variety of greens present at the garden.
