These three paintings close the year of 2019. They are much more low-key, and mellow in tone and texture and painted with the most minimal of gestures possible. I am happy with these four pieces--not because they are better or superior, but just because they seem to bring to a close a rather tulmutuous year with a calm, soothing palette -- a kind of a balm for the soul.

For me, creating a positive feeling or emotion on a canvas goes far beyond drawing a nice form and mixing colours at any level. This is why Rothko was a genius even if it looked "easy " to achieve the desired effect in his epic contemplative works. The easier it looks, the harder it is to achieve.
