Cyan (/ˈsaɪ.ən/, /ˈsaɪ.æn/) is a greenish-blue color. It is evoked by light with a predominant wavelength of between 490–520 nm, between the wavelengths of green and blue.

The organic greens and blues are contrasted with the hot pink and red in this piece. When I look at this painting, it makes me think of the track “Blue and Green” by the Miles Davis group on the pivotal album “Kind of Blue”—it evokes the sadness and beauty of vulnerability of the various shades of cyan, yet there is strength and vitality in the slashes of scarlet red and fuchsia.
