Description
This photograph is titled “1968” in honor of the 1968 Housing act that gave minorities in America the right to own housing and pay mortgages on property. Tommie Smith the gold medalist who protested through the National Anthem was used as the main figure in the photograph to represent the triumph of minority communities over the oppression that is faced daily in America. Utilizing a mixture of urban surroundings and history to create this photograph, it accurately represents minority communities all over America.
