This piece depicts the famous image from Tiananmen Square showing a civilian standing in the way of army tanks in 1989 in an attempt to stop them fighting in the city. This image is now notorious and considered one of the most famous photographs of the 21st century.
I recreated this photograph in my interpretation; I used different shades of green tissue paper ripped up to create the shape of the tanks and outlined them with black ink. I used acrylic paint to create the figure of the now famous unidentified man.
The piece was created on cardboard.
