This picture was captured at the Air Show in Winston Salem.The company that would become Piedmont Airlines was founded by Thomas Henry Davis in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1940, when Davis purchased Camel City Flying Service and changed the name to Piedmont Aviation. This picture catches a glimpse of the propeller of a piper cub parked in front of the mighty plane.
