I am an "artist", just out of school this year, and am trying to start somewhere with selling my art or having it noticed by more people who can enjoy what I do as well, since it has reached a larger role in my life over the past 2 and a half years. I have a history with trying to draw, though I took it more seriously in my later years of high school and would draw every day in my classes.
My main focus of medium in the past has been pen and ink. I am ecstatic to draw quick sketches in pen, of people, or my every day surroundings, plus it doesn't fade in your sketchbook. Though I do ultimately find such art rather boring, so I try harder to create something more surreal, or metaphorical. Or perhaps just opening up to certain beauties or pains of life that I find the want to open up more to the tunneled eyes of most people. I have worked with acrylic paints, oil pastels, watercolors, oil paints, chalk pastels, graphite, pen, scratch board and a mix of several at the same time. Though I am used to various mediums, I do have my highs and lows with certain ones. I am told I have a tendency to do art that is more astral, but i'd like to say it is not too purposeful, and I don't enjoy going overboard with grim ideas to be that kind of dark artist. I try to stay balanced with the ideas that I have, and simply go with what I feel strongly towards in my pieces. I also understand that the art business can be quite ruthless, and the actual doing of the art, tense/stressful at times.
Going to give this a try for now and I hope to get better, and reach out to more people with my art. Thanks
