Working in oils with paint knives, applying thick broken strokes , building a sculptural painting from a flat canvas. Sloane Keats is a full time artist living in the foothills of Colorado. Creating paintings inspired by the beauty of nature and her love for the outdoors. Sloane paints from life Plein Air or on larger works in her studio.
Born in New York, Sloane has spent most of her life in Florida. The west was calling and in July 2016 Sloane relocated to Littleton Colorado with her husband and two children.
Sloane Keats is a member of Oil Painters of America (O.P.A) , American Impressionist Society (A.I.S.) and Plein Air Painters of Colorado.
Sloane was invited to speak for Foosner Art Museum in Brevard ,Florida . She has won many awards including first place at Space Coast Art Festival in 2011, Best 2-D Demo award at The Art Works of Eau Gallie Plein Air Art Festival 2011 & 2012 and 2014. Best of Show at Heritage Isle 2010 and Best of Show at Art Gallery of Viera juried group show "Brush with Success" October 2013 .Sloane was honored to be featured poster artist for Mainsail Art Festival 2015 in St. Petersburg , Florida . Sloane's original oil paintings are in private and corporate collections internationally.
