Dave Olsen was born in Boston, MA. The youngest of four, Dave had two sisters and a brother along with his two parents. He grew up in Medford, MA. Until his family moved to Woburn, Ma. when he was 15. He felt that drawing was his biggest talent and he loved to do it. He spent nights copying sports photos in his room for practice. His art teachers saw he had talent in the subject and eventually newspapers took notice of him too. In April 1975, his first cartoon was published in the Woburn Daily Times during his junior year at Woburn High School. His main inspiration was his love of sports. His amiable and determined personality paved his way to becoming the renowned artist he is now. Dave's artwork has been published in print for over 30 years, The Boston Herald, Boston Globe, Lawrence Eagle Tribune, Providence Journal and The Daily Times Chronicle, Woburn, Ma. Gaming Today, Las Vegas, Nevada, Along with many magazines....

He has won 5 New England Press Awards for Best Cartoon and Illustration, Including first place in 2008. He also won The Massachusetts Press Award for Best Editorial Cartoon in 1985. Also as an airbrush painter he has won 'Best Paint Job" twice on motorcycles at the World of Wheels in Boston. He has worked for both professional teams and athletes in hockey, basketball, baseball, soccer, wresting, boxing, horse racing, some of his clients have included in the NBA, Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, and Miami Heat. In MLB, Boston Red Sox, Florida Marlins and Texas Rangers. For the NHL, Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Montreal Canadiens.

His renowned work is considered to be some of the most sought after and collected sports art in the country.

Dave also works as a Director of Art Therapy at a day program just outside Boston. There, he helps Adults with Mental and Physical Disabilities enjoy artwork, such as painting, drawing, and mosaics. He now resides in Winchester, MA.
