Renee Kilburn

I'm a 21 year old artist from Nova Scotia, Canada. I graduated high school with an International Baccalaureate degree in Fine Arts. Presently, I'm in my 4th year at St. Francis Xavier University, in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, where I'm studying for a BA, major in English and minor in Art History. I'm also a reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces, which I plan to make into a lifelong career.
I've been drawing and painting since I was a child, and it's a passion that has never faded. Although I get busy with school and work I always try to find time for art, even if it's doodling in a notebook.
I love doing portraits, as well as expressionist, abstract and surrealist works, as well as mixed media. My mediums are usually pencil, charcoal, acrylic and watercolour. Recently I've been trying copic markers. Photography is also an interest of mine. I confess I don't know much about cameras, but I'm always travelling (as of present I've visited 10 different countries) so I'm always taking pictures and I luck out with some beautiful shots sometimes.
My inspiration usually derives from my emotions, so it is always changing. I never really know what I'm going to create until it is finished, so it's a gamble. I create both from memory, imagination and off pictures and real life.
