Paul Brown Outsider Artwww.ArtPal.com/paulbrownart
Paul Brown is a South Yorkshire, UK based artist and despite early success in the Cadbury's National Exhibition of Children's Art in 1989; having work exhibited at the renowned Holmfirth Art Week and graduating from the University of Leeds the pursuit the never ending quest for a "proper job" and combatting an arsenal of OCD and anxiety disorders put Paul into an artistic hiatus spanning the best part of two decades. Having worked in a word factory and then a number factory he decided to get his hands dirty again and his insistence on painting the unfashionable and renouncing his schooling with an almost Punk DIY technique to art makes him very much an honorary outsider artist.
Paul works exclusively with acrylics and his work concerns politics, environmental issues, mental health awareness and philosophy often with an eighties video nasty twist. Paul is influenced by the likes of Henri Rousseau, Charles Schulz, John Pound and Derek Riggs and his goal is to make challenging art that invites conversation outside the realm of your Facebook feed or the latest Youtube cute kitty sensation.
