My name is Nicholas Dean Sorrill and I'm a painter from Quincy, IL. I have an Associate's Degree in Graphic Design from John Wood Community College and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art Studio from Culver Stockton College. My media of choice is Acrylic on Stretched Canvas.
I just hosted my first solo art exhibit at the Mabee Gallery at Culver Stockton College and this First Wave of pieces are from my personal collection in the show. My vehicle of choice is acrylic but through my opportunities at CSC I have also explored silk painting and batique fibers methods along with encaustic.
I am an American so my art influences early on were entertainment based cartoons and advertising. In my younger years I did a lot of sketching with pencil and basic media while copying from my favorite comic books and genres of entertainment like horror and Halloween. Now that I've been studying art for several years at the college level my style has evolved becoming more distinguished and refined.
All of my artwork is 100% original content. Work available through the Art Pal website are for personal use only and not to be recreated or resold without expressed written consent by the artist which is me Nicholas D. Sorrill. I use my own photos taken with a Nikon D7100 DSLR camera so you can be assured these are high quality images.
I do not sell original artwork online because my goal is to sell them in a gallery or to someone that I know. I have a lot more ideas and there will be much more to come. If you have any questions feel free to message me and have an awesome day!
