Creative Powerhouse

Nate, a self-taught artist, started painting in 1996 to satisfy a visceral urge. He started with acrylics but now paints exclusivly with oils, some are very flat done with all brushwork while others are highly textured done with all pallet knife. His paintings, include cityscapes, the natural world and abstractions, are currently on view at the A New Spin Laundry in Boston's North End.
He admires the paintings by the 19th Century Impressionists and the artist Michalopoulos; but his work is mostly inspired by individual photographs or scenes that he thinks would look great painted.
