Gregory McLaughlin - artist -musician and guerilla documentary filmmaker resides in West Palm Beach Florida today. He is mostly known as the lead vocalist of the renowned New Wave / Miami punk band The Front,and for producing and directing punk guerilla documentaries INVISIBLE BANDS and THE FRONT THE BAND THAT TIME FORGOT.
Art Genre - Outsider
Although Greg had always shown an interest in art since he was a child, he started seriously pursuing his painting around 1998. His piece "THE LAST SUPPER OF ALEIN JESUS came in among 19 winners of Ben Moores "Art Below " competition and as a result was exhibited during the Queens Jubilee at Liverpool Street Station in London, England . Also his work has been shown at YOUTH OF NATIONS - ART ON THE EDGE GALLERY & STUDIO KANTER GALLERY in Ft Lauderdale, FL. His work has been shown and donated at various charity and art events throughout South Florida. Musically you can find his art featured on CD covers such as South Florida Rockers’ "Dancing In The Combat Zone" and Shark Valley Sisters’ "VERA” and BLOWFLYs post mortem release "BLOWFLY 77 Rusty Trombones".
Currently his pieces of South Florida Punks and Rockers are on display at the PRL Cafe in Hollywood Florida.
While the main impetus for his painting is as an outlet for his creativity and not necessarily to sell, his work CAN be purchased right here. So feel free to join his ever growing group of collectors and purchase while the prices are reasonable
His artwork is owned by many artists and collectors today.His work ranges from abstract expessionism to illustrative dreamscapes to Pop Art. It is autobiographical, humorous, whimsical and ironic, done in a constantly developing style all his own.
