Self taught sculptor Jack Black introduced his daughter Lois to the arts at a very young age. Working with her father, who's own body of work includes over 300 pieces, Lois has produced a line of limited edition glazed stoneware figures depicting Southwestern Native American, religious, and contemporary motifs and sold them from their Tucson studio from the late 80's until it's close after Jack's death in 2003.
Lois Black's training started in childhood with Bulgarian painter and explorer Dimitar Krustev and includes studies at The Scottsdale Artist's School, The Art Institute of Chicago and most recently at The Florence Academy of Art.
Lois continues to concentrate on figurative drawing and sculpting in order to refine and increase her body of work, while at the same time focusing on her love of dance based on a lifetime of ballet training and performing.
