A child of Chicago, Kate Walter went to the Art Institute to draw and to the Old Town School of Folk Music to play the banjo, Lake Michigan sand in her toes and a love of midwest farm land in her blood.

Going west, Kate earned a degree in Art and Literature from Reed College, and then, going east, she worked with Teddy Arthur to develop a line of wood block prints at the Red Elm Press.

Back to the midwest, she raised horses, tended gardens, married, raised a family, and helped to establish Waldorf education in Wisconsin.

A Waldorf teacher since 1999, Kate has worked in Wisconsin, Virginia, Arizona, and Toronto, Canada, helping young people discover the power of a well drawn line. She is committed to the superlative education offered through Waldorf schools.

"Color descends into the surfaces of physical objects, but it also raises us from the purely material and leads us to the spiritual." Rudolf Steiner
