Jennifer Kellum Clements

I am a freelance U.S. artist based in Northeast Georgia. My paintings and drawings vary from realistic portraits of faces and hands to the more loosely rendered paintings of images from my subconscious. In these dreamlike works, the symbols and motifs I use are not strictly defined in a universal language but have personal meaning to me. It is not my goal to make a clear statement to viewers but it is my hope they can obtain meaning that is true for them based on their own personal experiences. While the concepts behind most of my paintings are of a serious nature, my depictions are often whimsical.

Whether realistically or loosely rendered, hands are featured in most of my works. The hand is where our minds meet the world. Without them, we would be unable to do much of what our minds create. It is for this reason and for the fact that, like fingerprints, hands are unique to each individual person that I am fascinated with representing them in my work.

I work in a variety of mediums including, but not limited to, graphite, charcoal, chalk pastel, oil paint, acrylic paint, watercolor, pen and ink and encaustic. In addition to painting and drawing I am also a photographer, cake designer and singer. More of my work in these various genres can be viewed via my website at - J.Kellum Clements
