My name is Jason Oakes. I have been interested in art since I was a little kid. As an adult I served almost 4 years in the U.S. Military and was honorably discharged in 2004. After serving in the military I attended college and earned 2 degrees, one in webpage and one in animation.

I have loved comic art since childhood, but was dissuaded from pursuing the style during my Army and art school days. After switching from fine to graphic art, I went to my first comic con and was inspired to pursue what is now a fusion of comic and fine art.

My work recalls a variety of influences, from Michael Turner and J. Scott Campbell to Alphonse Mucha, Jackson Pollock and Van Gogh. I feel that all types of art and artists can learn and grow from unexpected sources and I seek to bring joy to the comic community that has embraced my work. I am also currently a member of a group of artists called the Artist Comic Collective.

If there's any character you'd like to see, drop me a line- I'm always looking to hear from everyone, and always looking for new ideas and ways of thinking. If you have any questions too, please feel free to ask. Thanks for viewing!
