From 1961 to 1965 she studied in the Art Academy of Kishenev, taking courses in classical drawing, painting and the history of art, as well as applied art, material design, carpets, mural painting and graphics.
The young student''s approach to art was influenced a great deal by such artists as Vasarelly, Matisse, Picasso, Chagall and many Japanese artists. After graduation from the Art Academy she began feeling her way in different aspects of the craft, from interior and show-window design to book illustrations.
In 1974 Zina Rothman immigrated to Israel, Her twelve years in the country were spent mastering aquarelle techniques and searching for new ways to express herself. One finds Zina Rothman''s aquarelles painted in "dry" and "wet", in bright and pastel tones at numerous exhibitions in different Israeli Galleries.
