The artist ,Yucan Huang, has been an artist since she was a little girl - watching her uncle doing elaborate paintings, little Yucan would paint pictures of maidens, children and many different animals using just paint on her fingers and the window glass as her drawing board. Taken courses in painting, photography and working as an art designer, Yucan refined her skills as an artist when she discovered a new art form - cloisonné handcraft pictures. Cloisonne is a form of Enameling on metal that was first found in China in ancient Dadu(modern Beijing), the Yuan Dynasty's(1279-1368.)capital city,until now - already more than 500 hundred years. It became widespread during the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644 ).During that time it was produced mainly for temples and palaces.The color was mainly the blue of a peacock or precious gemstones and the craftsmanship was created,then wire is applied forming cells where the colored enamel paste will be placed(cloisonne's).The surface is then cleaned and colored enamel is applied.It is then fired,polished,plated with gold and finished.Its unique beauty can compare with Fuzhou lacquer ware and Jingdezhen Chinaware and it has become one of the three great Chinese traditional folk arts.
