Roberto Matta, one of my spiritual fathers, used to say : " I paint for my own amazement".
As far as I am concerned, I did my first steps in painting at the age of sixteen. At the beginning, it was like mysterious palettes, that was my "lichen" period. Then I discovered Bosch and Bruegel the Elder, and it was my surrealist period with Max Ernst and the others.
I still believe that surrealism is one of the most important movements of contemporary painting, besides it is still present nowadays.
Then, after a big serie of black and white paintings, I finally moved on " Lyric Abstraction", to which I still belong today.

I enjoy paintings that seem to flow like a river. Paintings on which one could do a "stop-action" , and one would get the impression that they are just a part from a much bigger work, with no definite composition. I also have a passion for music, that is essential to my painting.
