I am a North Carolina native, born and raised in High Point, NC. I moved to the Boone, NC area when I was 18, and attended undergrad and graduate school at Appalachian State University. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology, an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies, and a Master’s Degree in Experimental Psychology. Throughout my academic career, I became increasingly aware of the fact that I was not doing with my life what I love. I spent all of my free time doing art, and despite my academic interests, I realized that I was a creative soul trying to fit a square peg through a round hole so to speak. After graduating, I began to pour all of my time and energy into my artwork, and I haven’t looked back since!
My artwork consists of abstract paintings, realistic portrait drawings, and photography. Creating artwork has been a passion of mine since early childhood. I love all things aesthetic and beautiful, and do my best to convey the beauty and love I feel when doing art. I started out doing realistic portrait drawings of people and scenes as a child, and then branched out into abstract and realistic paintings in my early college years. For me, art is therapy, art is love, and art is bliss. When I produce a piece that I am proud of and connect with, I feel a sense of peace and true meaning. My life has always centered around creative and artistic endeavors. I am also a musician and a singer, and have played the bagpipes in competitive pipe bands since age 13. I have a mezzo-soprano vocal range, and sing mainly classical pieces, with some crossover songs. The realization that my artistic/creative skills align with my passions in life, is one of the major motivations for my work. I am so happy to share with you what feels so right to me!!!
