My first camera, was a Kodak 404 Instamatic that I received at age 13. From those early days of plastic cameras and limited quality blurry prints which were too small, became dull and faded, to the present, I have enjoyed photography as a hobby as an integral part of my graphic design career. I developed my still photography technique while working as a freelance videographer. This taught me how to frame a scene in camera. Today, I am able to realize the technical capability of shooting, editing and printing many of my photos and images in more exciting ways than ever.
I photograph from a designer's perspective : When I see interesting scenes with shapes, colors, hues, and textures that get my attention, I capture them with my camera, with the intent of presenting them as artistic prints. My subjects and styles range from Landscape and Found Objects to Abstract and Graphic images. Portrait, Aviation, Architectural and Macro photography are areas I am venturing into as well.
All photos receive some editing and processing before they are printed. Some go through more refinement, enhancement, and editing to bring out certain elements not initially evident, while others become sketches, watercolor paintings, or any one of the many traditional and non-traditional art interpretations.
I have the ability of taking high quality shots and the larger files allow for larger prints, and my post editing tools and applications provide for limitless interpretations and results, fine-tuning my ideas.
