Marie Manon Paintingwww.ArtPal.com/Mariemanon
My name is Marie Manon. I grew up in a small village in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec. When I was growing up, my father painted as a hobby, and there were always unfinished paintings and brushes scattered throughout the living room. As a teenager, I also painted a little bit, but before long, life got in the way.
Around 2007 I took up painting again, and like my father, mostly as a hobby.
In 2010 I moved to Calgary and began studies at the Calgary School of Art in 2011. I continued to attend classes there until recently when the school closed down.
During this time my interest in painting continued to grow, and before long, I had become a very serious and motivated artist.
It has become my preference to paint abstracts as they allow me the freedoms to incorporate forms, colors, lines and the appearance movement into my artistic creations. Sometimes I like to include subject matter, such as, beautiful flowers and trees into my abstract painting. I have now come to realize that my painting, which was once a hobby, is now and all-consuming passion.
In 2016 I began to collaborate with interior decorators. It has been very exciting to supply beautiful paintings for the purpose of decorating show homes and other properties. As a part of this endeavor, I have been confronted with an exciting new challenge to learn to customize my art so that they would uniquely complement different decors.
As I reflect on my journey as an artist, I see that it has been a … Of learning and challenges which I have come to relish. When I look into the future, I do this with an immense feeling of excitement, as I ponder the challenges and adventures to come.
