Creating - whether it be art, food, a story or a new way of doing something - has always been a part of my life. I've worked in science, acted, and painted my whole life.
I have now reached the point where I've decided that my art needs to be a career, not just a hobby.
I have recently had a solo exhibition where half of the works I had prepared were sold, and that galvanized me to start selling online as well.
My paintings have an ecological them to them.
The exhibition paintings were mainly landscapes falling into one of the four seasons, and show either real or imaginary landscapes, empty of humans or with only one or two buildings. I believe that humans are not killing the planet by continued pollution and global warming, but killing themselves. We cannot survive the changes we are making to our environment, but the world will go on without us.
I am currently working on a series focused on water - that absolutely essential part of life that we similarly abuse and ignore.
I am essentially an idealist, and I believe we can still change and reverse the damage if we all work together now. At the same time, I want people to appreciate my paintings, be able to live with them on walls and see the possibilities of a beautiful world.
