about Ultra:
Isabelle Dufresne aka Ultra Violet was born on September 6, 1935 in France. She is an Artist and the author of "Famous For 15 min Minutes." She is former colleague and superstar of Andy Warhol. She is one of the last Warhol factory artists still creating today. Earlier in her career she worked for and studied under Salvador Dali who consequently is the person credited with introducing Ultra to Andy Warhol.

Ultra Violet's art works are in the collections of the Museum Pompidou (Paris), the Knokke-Heist Museum (Belgium), and in the private collection of Whitney Museum trustee Beth deWoody. Her art has addressed the tragedy of 9/11 and how the iconography of that event has been, in select cases, transformed into a malleable icon that represents not only an act of terrorism and annihilation, but also one of commercialization in contemporary society. Her IX XI sculpture has been purchased by the Kucich family of Manhasset, New York, and will be on loan to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.
